The mission of EFS Philly is to:

• Make STEM learning directly relevant to students’ lived realities and material concerns
• Build student agency in the remediation social shortfalls and mitigation of ecological stresses
• Expanding student access and engagement in GreenSTEM Education for Sustainability through teacher professional development and intentional community building
• Connecting school learning to civic action, active community engagement, and GreenSTEM career pathways

Our vision is of students empowered to directly address issues of social, environmental, and climate justice, their learning and its applications relocated from the silo of the school, into the community, and situated within the greater ecosystem of sustainability and resilience efforts in Philadelphia.
